Mustard Greens with Italian Sausage and Garlic

Cooking with Chet -- Mustard Greens with Italian Sausage and Garlic - Mustard Greens have a bitter taste to them and they are well complimented with some Italian Sausage. The mustard greens cook way down, much like spinach so you will want to start with a large bowl full. You can use sweet or hot Italian sausage, whichever you prefer and you’ll need some garlic and olive oil too.

Ingredients:

  • Mustard Greens
  • Onions
  • Italian Sausage
    You can use sweet or hot Italian sausage (whichever you prefer)
  • Olive Oil
  • Garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation:

  1. Wash the mustard greens and let them dry.
  2. Fry the sausage in a separate pan (or grill).
  3. Drizzle olive oil and add garlic to the pan and sauté for awhile.
  4. Add the mustard greens, they will cook down quite a bit.
  5. Once the sausage is almost done you can transfer to the pan with the greens.  
  6. Continue to cook together until the sausage is done.  
  7. Salt and pepper to taste.
