Pleasant Hub Posting Guidelines

Pleasant Hub is a new online social media community specifically designed for 55+ people to "stay connected" with other people our age in a welcoming anf friendly place where age and experience are appreciated.

Pleasant Hub Culture
Before we get into what is, and is not allowed on the platform, let's address Pleasant Hub Culture. Every social networking site has a unique culture specific to their platform. Our reason for creating Plesant Hub was to create a different environment from other social networks by developing a posting culture based upon mutual respect, no hate and no politics.

As such, we have developed the platform posting guidelines listed below.

Platform Guidelines
While we truly regret pointing out so much negativity below, we need to be very clear about what Pleasant Hub does allow, and does NOT allow so people can fearlessly share their life experiences, ideas, knowledge and thoughts.

1) You Must Abide by Pleasant Hub Content Posting Guidelines
Pleasant Hub is an online social network where everyone over 55 years of age is welcome and nobody is perfect. But we ask that you observe our strict policy of:   #NoPolitics, #NoCreeps, #NoViolence, #NoHarassment, #NoHate and always posting or commenting with #MuchRespect to all other Pleasant Hub Users.

2) When you Disagree with a Post or Comment
The Platform Guidelines below are NOT intended to stop disagreement. Other points of view strengthen Pleasant Hub and are 100% acceptable and perfectly fine, as long as you post contrarian responses in a respectful manner.

3) No Harassment
Any form of harassment is strictly against our "Pleasant Culture" philosophy. This includes, but isn't limited to: Posts, Comments, Replies or Direct Messages which ridicule or disrespect an individual or segment of people or have hateful verbiage, offensive name-calling, purposeful embarrassment, threatening, cyber-bullying, suggestive or sexual images, sustained sending of unwanted direct messages or pictures and so on.

4) No Creeps
Posts, comments or direct messages on Pleasant Hub that include statements to degrade or disrespect such as (but not limited to): "You People" or "The Libs" or "You MAGA" or "Merica" or negative comments about someone's body are NOT acceptable AND ending a post with "Just Kidding" is not humor and not an excuse for bad behavior. These and any other types of provocative or disrespectful comments will not be tolerated and will be cause to delete the offending User's account.

5) Everyone 55+ is Welcome on Pleasant Hub!
Pleasant Hub will immediately delete any account, person or post that insults, disrespects, ridicules, degrades or threatens on the basis of:

• • Ethnicity
• • National Origin
• • Religion or Religious Affiliation
• • Political Views or Leanings
• • Political Party
• • Disability or Disease
• • Gender
• • Gender Identity
• • Sexual Orientation
• • Skin Color
• • Immigrants, with or without legal status or asylum-seeking
• • Another Country, or its People
• • Another State, or its People

Note: Pleasant Hub reserves the right to determine what constitutes inappropriate content or behavior and to delete offenders at its sole discretion.

6) No Hate
Pleasant Hub communities are intended to enable lively, but civil interaction. Please observe our #NoHate policy that avoids use of language that is abusive, disrespectful or degrading, includes excessively foul language, or includes any form of personal attack. Aggressive posting will not be tolerated and will subject the offending user's account to be deleted without recourse.
Attacks against the categories listed in point #4 above or any “subset” of those categories or combination thereof are counted as Hate Speech and will be cause for Pleasant Hub to immediately delete your account.

Pleasant Hub counts an “attack” as, but not limited to, the following or any combination thereof:

• • Personal Insults
• • Degrading Generalizations
• • Comments that ridicule an individual or any group of people
• • Profanity targeted at a segment of the population or at any individual
• • Slurs against protected categories
• • Calls to exclude any group of people based upon the categories listed above
• • Calls for segregation
• • Dismissing a group as less valuable or worthy
• • Calls for Violence

7) No Politics
If there's a significant source of bad feelings, harassment and hate. . .it's politics. We do not allow Politics on Pleasant Hub because the other side will always feel compelled to respond and the shouting match will be on. We don't want that. So if you create a post that includes political terms, messaging, meaning or tone, no matter how nicely worded, it will be deleted. Just like no one is going to change your political views, you are not going to change anyone else's political views. So let's Keep Pleasant Hub Politics Free.

8) Religious Content should be posted in Groups
Adding a simple reference to God within a post is fine. However, if your post includes quoting scripture or religious imagery you should only do so in a religious based Group in the Groups section of Pleasant Hub and NOT posted in the main activity feed on your home page.

9) Marijuana
We ask that posts which include photos of growing, smoking, using or otherwise focused on Marijuana be posted only in a Groups created for Marijuana users and NOT posted in the main activity feed on your home page.

10) No Violence
Pleasant Hub does not allow content depicting violence or suggesting violent acts with text, images or video anywhere on the platform.

11) No Pornography
Pleasant Hub does not allow pornographic content in any form (text, video or images).

12) No Solicitation
While we understand there is real hardship, we also cannot let Pleasant Hub become home to scammers. It is well recognized that scammers target older people to steal their money with various sad stories. As such Pleasant Hub does not allow solicitation of members to send money, transfer money, make business investments, send gift cards or gift card numbers or any other way Scammers try to steal your money. We ask that you immediately report anyone asking you for money in a direct message or in a post or comment. You also understand and agree that Pleasant Hub does NOT vet members in any way and is not responsible if you fall for a scam as outlined in our Terms and Conditions of Use.

13) Reporting Inappropriate Posts, Comments, Replies or other Content
To keep Pleasant Hub a friendly and welcoming environment it will take YOU, WE, ME and US to help keep the platform free of hate and disrespect and aligned with our ideals and standards. Users will find an "Actions" link adjacent to each post, comment or photo to anonymously report inappropriate content. Please use this function wisely as it will generally cause the content reported to be deleted and if eggregious enough, the user who posted the content as well at the discretion of the Pleasant Hub Team. For example if a User created a Post with any form of Political reference, please report it so we we can delete that post in accordance with our #NoPolitics rule.

14) Pleasant Hub reserves the right to delete Content and User Accounts at its sole discretion

15) Terms and Conditions of Use
By using Pleasant Hub you accept the policies above along with additional conditions and your user rights as stated in our published Terms & Conditions of Use.
