Visible Head-shot Profile Picture Required
Pleasant Hub is unique from other platforms in that one of the user requirements is a visible "head-shot" profile photo. The reason for this is that we had some bad experiences with members who did not post a profile photo or used a Meme or Avatar and then felt free to post inappropriate content without accountability. We are deeply committed to keep the platform dedicated to genuine interactions and found the need to require a visible head-shot.

Content Posting Guidelines

Pleasant Hub is an online social network dedicated to +55 adults who commnicate with Pleasant Philosophy. We encourage posting about life journeys, senior life, interests, interactions, places to visit, things to do, Travel & Cruises, Events and Activities. We also welcome Businesses, Event Marketers, Travel Companies, Senior focused Activity promoters and Senior Support Services to participate.


#NoPolitics - We do not allow Politics on Pleasant Hub. If there's a significant source of harassment, bad feelings and hate, it's politics. Just as you don't care about anyone else's politics, no one cares about your political opinions either. So let's not go there and keep Pleasant Hub politics free.


#NoCreeps - Any kind of harassment is strictly against our Pleasant philosophy. This includes, but isn't limited to: Activity Feed Posts, Comments, Replies or Direct Messages which have hateful, offensive name-calling, purposeful embarrassment, threatening, cyber-bullying, suggestive or sexual images, sustained sending of unwanted messages and/or pictures and so on. --> Remember comments that include statements such as (but not limited to): "You People" or "The Libs" or "You MAGA" or "You're Hot" are NOT compliments. These (and other) types of provocative comments will not be tolerated on Pleasant Hub.

#NoHate - Pleasant Hub communities are intended to enable lively, but civil interaction. Please observe our #NoHate policy that avoids use of language that is abusive, disrespectful or degrading, includes excessively foul language, or includes any form of personal attack. This type of aggressive posting will not be tolerated and will subject the offending user's account to be deleted.

Pleasant Hub reserves the right to determine what constitutes inappropriate behavior or images and to ban offenders at its sole discretion. Pleasant Hub will delete any person or post that insults, disrespects or degrades or threatens on the basis of:

Attacks against these categories or any combination thereof are counted as hate speech and acted on in the form of deleting your Pleasant Hub account. Attacks against any “subset” of these categories are also grounds for removal. Pleasant Hub counts an “attack” as, but not limited to, the following:

  • • Degrading Generalizations
  • • Calls for Violence
  • • Profanity targeted at a segment of the population or at any individual
  • • Slurs against protected categories
  • • Calls to exclude any group of people based upon the categories listed above

Pleasant Hub reserves the right (but shall have no obligation) to pre-screen, review, flag, filter, modify, refuse or remove any user or member or content from the Pleasant Hub Website without permission and without notice.

User-Submissions

Certain areas of the pleasanthub.com website permit you to submit posts, polls, articles, comments, images, photographs, graphics, video, feedback, information, data, text, messages, or other Content (each, a “user-submission”, “User-Submission”, “User Submission”, “User-Generated Content” or “UGC”). By posting a user-submission; whether a post, comment, reply, photo, image, video, blog, article, social media post, added directly on the site, or contributed via RSS, the contributor agrees to give Pleasant Hub a perpetual, non-exclusive license to render their user-submissions on pleasanthub.com.

By creating and posting a User-Submission you grant to Pleasant Hub a license to (a) display your User-Submissions (or any modification thereto), in whole or in part, in any format or medium now known or later developed to website users and (b) that Pleasant Hub does not pre-screen, limit or vett users and (c) Pleasant Hub reserves the right to display advertisements in connection with User-Submissions.

Users have the functionality to delete their own posts and images. Users may also submit a written request to Pleasant Hub to have User-Submissions deleted by creating a Support Ticket.

Pleasant Hub will not knowingly share or sell User-Submissions or User-Data with or to any other entity.

By submitting any User-Submission, you represent and warrant that:
  • • You are at least 18 years old;
  • • You release and indemnify Pleasant Hub and sponsors of Pleasant Hub website from any claims and/or liability related to your use of Pleasant Hub.
  • • You own all rights in your User-Submissions (including, without limitation, all rights to the images, audio, video, or digital recording and the performance contained in your User-Submissions) or, alternatively, you have acquired all necessary rights in your User-Submissions to enable you to grant to Pleasant Hub the rights in your User-Submissions described herein;

  • • Your User-Submission does not contain any viruses, worms, spyware, adware, or other potentially damaging programs or files;
  • • Your User-Submission does not contain any information that you consider confidential, proprietary, or personal;
  • • Your User-Submission does not contain or constitute any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional Content, junk mail, spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any other form of solicitation;
  • • You are solely responsible for the content of all information you contribute, link to, or otherwise upload to Pleasant Hub website;

  • (e) pleasanthub.com makes absolutely NO guarantee that your profile, posts, pictures, comments or other activity on the platform cannot be found online outside of pleasanthub.com either by a platform vulnerability or hack or by nefarious user-behavior such as copying an image, post or other user information or user-submission.

You agree that you are solely responsible for all of your User-Submissions and that if you post an image that violates a copyright you take sole responsibility for any litigation and all damages and release Max Digital Web and Pleasant Hub from any liability related to your use of the Website.

Each User Submission has a feature where other users can "report" the post as inappropriate, offensive or otherwise against guidelines. If your User Submission is Reported by another user as against our guidelines Pleasant Hub management will make an arbitrary decision whether or not the post violates our guidelines (i.e. posting pornography or hate) and if it is determined the image or post does violate our guidelines, it will be removed without seeking permission from the user who originally submitted the violating post or image and that user may be banned from the Pleasant Hub website or issued a trackable warning. If the violation happens a second time, the user will be banned from the platform.

You acknowledge and understand that Pleasant Hub may, but is not obligated to, pre-screen User-Submissions or monitor any area of the Pleasant Hub Website through which User-Submissions may be submitted. Pleasant Hub is not required to host, display, or distribute any User-Submissions on or through the Pleasant Hub Website and may remove at any time or refuse any User-Submissions for any reason. Pleasant Hub is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage of any kind to any User-Submissions.

Pleasant Hub does not want to receive any User Submission that is confidential. You understand and agree that any User Submission will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary and that Pleasant Hub is programed to post your User Submission absent any review or obligation of confidence on the part of the recipient. Pleasant Hub does not guarantee that you will have any recourse through Pleasant Hub or any third party to edit or delete any User Submission you have submitted. Content Contributors

Pleasant Hub publishes user contributed content in the form of articles, posts and comments. By providing content either via RSS feed or directly on the site, comments or other content to the site, contributors agree to the following:

1. Contributors may cease contributing new content at any time by emailing the site editorial team.

2. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to not publish contributed content at Pleasant Hub’s discretion.

3. Pleasant Hub will attribute content to the author.

4. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to syndicate all contributed content in summary form via RSS to third parties.

5. All contributed content may contain the author’s byline, a very brief biography of the author, and, in the case of material provided to us via RSS from the author’s own blog, a link back to the original post in the footer of the full post.

6. Contributing authors are solely responsible for the originality and accuracy of their submissions.

7. Pleasant Hub has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Pleasant Hub recognizes that blogging is a heavily referential medium and that bloggers frequently cite and quote from each other’s work. Such citations might be protected under the legal doctrine of fair use. However, Pleasant Hub will remove any post that crosses the line from fair use to plagiarism, at Pleasant Hub’s sole discretion. Authors who knowingly submit plagiarized work may be banned from Pleasant Hub communities.

8. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to remove any sharing links or advertising accompanying contributed posts.

9. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to set fonts and styles, adjust image alignments, and otherwise alter post layout to insure that posts comply with Pleasant Hub’s global site styling.

10. From time to time, Pleasant Hub may need to display summary versions of contributed content. In such cases, Pleasant Hub may edit posts in summary form. Such summaries will contain a link to the full and unaltered post. In such circumstances, Pleasant Hub will strive to preserve the original meaning and intent of the content.

11. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to edit post headlines for clarity or search engine optimization (keyword inclusion).

12. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to make corrections for spelling and grammar.

13. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to reproduce blogger bios and accompanying pictures in Pleasant Hub’s marketing and promotional Content.

Pleasant Hub Website Visitors

Non-Acceptable Behavior Pleasant Hub does not allow Pornographic images to be posted.

Pleasant Hub’s communities are intended to enable lively but civil interaction. Use of language that is abusive, off-topic, uses excessive foul language, or includes personal attacks will not be tolerated. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to determine what constitutes inappropriate behavior and to bar offenders at its sole discretion. Unless expressly permitted, you may not publish or reproduce the content that appears on any part of this site. Pleasant Hub reserves the right to block or remove postings or communications at any time at Pleasant Hub’s sole discretion.

Access

You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining all equipment and services needed for access to and use of the Pleasant Hub website. Termination

Pleasant Hub may terminate, suspend, or modify your registration with, or access to, all or part of the Pleasant Hub website, without notice, at any time and for any reason. You may discontinue your participation in and access to the Pleasant Hub website at any time. If you breach any of these Terms of Use, your authorization to use the Pleasant Hub website automatically terminates and you agree to immediately destroy any downloaded or printed content obtained from the Pleasant Hub Website (and any copies thereof).

Governing Law; Jurisdiction and choice of law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any action concerning these Terms, or the parties’ rights or obligations pursuant hereto shall be instituted in either the state or federal courts located in and for San Jose, California and all parties further agree to the exclusive personal and subject matter jurisdiction of said courts. The parties hereby waive any rights they may have to a change of venue. In the event that any party commences any legal or equitable action or other proceeding, no party shall be entitled to recover any attorney’s fees.

In the event that any party commences any legal or equitable action or other proceeding (including arbitration), the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover any attorney’s fees.

Any Claim shall be arbitrated or litigated, as the case may be, on an individual basis and shall not be consolidated with any Claim of any other party whether through class action proceedings, class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.

Each of the parties hereby knowingly, voluntarily, and intentionally waives any right it may have to a trial by jury in respect of any litigation (including but not limited to any claims, counterclaims, cross-claims, or third-party claims) arising out of, under, or in connection with these Terms of Use. Further, each party hereto certifies that no representative or agent of either party has represented, expressly or otherwise, that such party would not in the event of such litigation, seek to enforce this waiver of right to jury trial provision. Each of the parties acknowledges that this section is a material inducement for the other party entering into these Terms of Use.

Exclusions and limitations

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain damages. Accordingly, some of the above disclaimers and limitations of liability may not apply to you.
